PDP Reading List
This
is a comprehensive list of resources available through the BU library which has
been developed to provide additional support and guidance on a wide range of topics
relating to personal development planning. Clicking on this heading will link
you electronically to this list and into the library catalogue system so you can
access the complete list of resources available to you. In the glossary you will
find information on the full service facilities of the library. NotepadA
notepad is available to you throughout the process. This will allow you to informally
record any notes you want to make at any stage. This is entirely for your own
use and is only like a blank sheet of paper. You may prefer to use paper and pencil,
or you may prefer to type a record of your thoughts on any subject and store the
notes in your H drive. Evidence LogAn evidence log form is also
available to you. It is important that you record evidence to support any claims
you are making about yourself. Retain a single copy in your H drive, or print
this off so that you can add to it as you go along and cross reference to a hard
file of physical evidence. Maintaining a ring binder for this purpose may be a
good idea. You will be reminded throughout the process of the need to provide
and record evidence. GlossaryThere is a glossary of terms to help
you understand words or phrases commonly used in higher education that you may
not be familiar with. Guidance Notes on ReflectionThe ability to
reflect and to write reflectively is an essential skill to develop while you are
in higher education. Throughout this website you are expected to develop and demonstrate
your ability to reflect on your learning. Access these guidance notes to help
you develop the skills of reflection. Tutor Support Your tutors
are a primary resource available to you during your time in higher education.
The link here will help you plan how to make the most from contact with your tutors
and how to prepare for a meeting with them. In the glossary you will find a full
explanation of the role of a tutor. |
